The purpose of the Chapter is to engage in education, advocacy ,promote candidates, legislation, constitutional amendments,
government policy, and public practices that slow climate change and that preserve and protect Florida's natural resources. This is
including, but not limited to, its atmosphere, sea and gulf coasts, aquifers, waterways, wetlands, wild lands, parks, habitats, and wildlife.
The Chapter also pursues environmental justice. Accordingly, the Chapter works towards a just transition to a green economy to
promote and sustain the welfare of all Floridians, including indigenous peoples and all of Florida’s marginalized communities. We

Press Release: 8/20/25
Palm Beach County Democratic Environmental Caucus passes resolution Opposing construction of a new Incinerator in PBC.
"The Palm Beach County Democratic Environmental Caucus opposes the construction of a new Incinerator in PBC. Not only will this incinerator cause increased health costs to those exposed to the pollution but will cost taxpayers billions of dollars. This money could be spent to reduce waste on the front end and move PBC into a zero waste future including effective composing and recycling".

Congratulations to everyone who protested and supported the efforts to shut down "Aligator Alcatraz"!

Members of our Board met with Commissioner Gregg Weiss on June 12th in person and via zoom. It is our goal to have open communication with all Democratic elected officials and candidates. The Bittersweet Muck Documentary Screening was a great success! Thank you board members Dee Rae and Dr.Pande

Congratulations all who fought for "Boynton's Forest"
The Commissioners voted to suspend negotiations with the developer while they conduct a 3rd party Environmental Impact Study. The city is also looking into the potential to turn the forest into a protected preserve, which would block future development.
Palm Beach County conveyed those parcels of property to the City of Boynton Beach in 1961 for Public Purposes. A letter was sent on June 10, 2025, from County Commissioner, Gregg Weiss, to the Boynton Beach Mayor, Rebecca Shelton. It states in part, “any conveyance by the City will be subject to this public purpose limitation.” “if the City intends to convey these properties to a developer or any other party for non-public purposes, it must first obtain a release of the use restriction that would need to be approved by the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners.”

Monthly Meeting Every 3rd Tuesday at 4:30pm. Via Zoom. Please email [email protected] for current zoom link or check calendar.
